Our Mission

At Heirloom, we believe getting dressed is a creative act.

 

A hat can be the cherry on top of an outfit, a way to express a mood, or a statement all on its own. More than an accessory, it can be a form of communication, a small but meaningful way of showing the world something about who we are.

 

Our mission is to make hats feel approachable and natural to wear, while keeping the art of millinery alive. We create in small quantities, by hand, in our Montréal studio, combining traditional techniques with a contemporary and playful approach to design.

 

We believe in making thoughtfully, working with quality materials and choosing locally available materials whenever possible. By keeping production small and personal, we can remain connected to the process, the materials and, most importantly, the people who wear our hats.

 

For us, preserving millinery isn't about looking backward. It's about giving this beautiful, time-honoured art form a place in the way we dress and express ourselves today.
