Bucket hat - Deadstock straw - Black
This product is currently sold out.
A little twist on the bucket hat!
A wire is hand sewn around the edge of the brim in order to keep the brim where it should be, which is then covered with a petersham ribbon.
The straw used for this hat is vintage/deadstock and was made in Italy circa 1960. I am not sure of the exact content in fiber, but believe it to be partly synthetic. The weaving on this straw is large and beautiful.
This hat sits on the top of your head (as opposed to a regular hat that would sit in the middle of your forehead) and is held in place with the help of a millinery elastic that can be dissimulated within your hair (almost like a hairband).
This hat is suitable for small/medium heads (55 to 57cm). Please contact me if you fall outside those measurements.
Only a few of these have been made and are ready to ship.
10 inch diameter - 2 inches high from the base of the crown. Total height is about 4 inches
